Tayview Summer Courses
Activities
The children take part in a variety of sports and activities during the week with a free swim timetabled in every day either pre lunch or at the end of the day. Other sports included in the week are tennis, hockey, squash, cricket, rugby, rounders, indoor curling, parachute games, cycling, golf, football, basketball, team building, archery and badminton.
For children 8 years upwards there is the opportunity for kayaking on the college facilities.
As a quiet post lunch activity the youngest children take part in arts and crafts in the pavilion. Past activities have included t-shirt design, Hama bead mats, pencil holders and painting rocks. For a number of years the children have gone to the Wester Pickston miniature railway based near the college for a ride on the trains.
In past years, to give the oldest group the opportunity for a day adventure, they have gone to Willowgate activity centre to try paddle boarding
All activities are taken by qualified coaches and leaders and most of our coaches have been coaching for us since the camps started.
